Project Hope Outreach Ministries, Inc. began as a labor of love, driven by the hearts of Pastor John Gilbert and his wife Beverly. Over a decade ago, they felt a divine calling to serve the less fortunate in their community of Frederiksted, St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands—particularly those facing mental and intellectual challenges. Their dedication led to the official recognition of the organization as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in February 2018, solidifying their commitment to providing sustainable and affordable housing while empowering individuals to live independently whenever possible.
At the core of Project Hope Outreach Ministries is the Eagles Nest Temporary Housing Program, which offers residents a secure and stable living environment. By integrating housing with essential supportive services, the program ensures that individuals facing mental illness and intellectual challenges receive the care and structure necessary to thrive.
Caring for individuals with special needs requires more than good intentions—it demands ongoing, practical, and loving service. The Eagles Nest Group Home is staffed by a dedicated Program Director and team who provide critical support, including:
Through these initiatives, Project Hope Outreach Ministries continues to uplift individuals, allowing them to lead more fulfilling lives with dignity and stability.
Beyond their work in St. Croix, Pastor Gilbert and Mrs. Gilbert have extended their hearts to Africa, forming a partnership with Bishop Gabriel and the people of Busia, Kenya. Their visit in 2022 inspired a commitment to assist in the construction of an orphanage—one that will house, feed, and educate vulnerable children who otherwise lack access to schooling due to financial barriers. The facility will also serve as a Bible School, nurturing the spiritual growth of pastors and ministers in the region.
The work of Project Hope Outreach Ministries is made possible through partnerships with various agencies and the generosity of supporters who share their vision for compassionate care. Whether serving individuals locally in St. Croix or extending hope internationally, the organization remains steadfast in its mission to provide faith-based outreach, housing, and essential services to those in need.
With unwavering dedication and a heart for service, Project Hope Outreach Ministries continues to make a lasting difference—one life, one home, and one heart at a time.
